Our customers are our partners. In order to identify and solve current and future needs, we at C.F. Maier are dedicated to a policy of quality from which we derive our corporate and process goals.
We meet international standards – but standards aren’t everything. Because our partners’ needs are more complex than standard specifications. In our company, quality therefore goes beyond certificates. Continuous improvement – that is our company philosophy. This requires a clear and structured management system which connects various processes in our company.
For us, a quality policy with a comprehensive document structure and defined responsibilities is a matter of course. For C.F. Maier Europlast, for example, this means that a total of 52 procedural instructions on topics such as sales, project management, and production are implemented. When a product is manufactured, a detailed flowchart provides information about all the necessary process stages and appropriate contact people. Every single step is defined: For example, specific work and test instructions are displayed on machines' operating terminals. Later, things like the 3D measuring machine help verify that the components meet our expectations.
We have been regularly renewing our quality standards for over 20 years now - and our certificates too. Our synthetic resin plant and our plant in Schillingsfürst are both certified according to the ISO 9001 quality standard. The C.F. Maier Europlast and our plant in Turkey both even meet the requirements of IATF 16949. This certificate is entirely oriented towards the high requirements of the automotive industry – and is therefore the most significant quality standard achievable worldwide. When we were first certified according to IATF 16949 in 2013, we were among the first companies in Germany to have this standard certified.
Before an auditing company such as TÜV or Dekra issues a certificate, auditors visit the company for two to three days to evaluate all processes. If all requirements are met, the corresponding certificate is issued for a period of three years. Afterwards, two more annual checks are done to ensure that quality does not drop during this time. Recertification after three years is just as comprehensive as the initial certification.
Of course, our certificates serve as proof to our partners that everything in our company follows regulated processes and that C.F. Maier produces high-quality products. But the certification also benefits us internally by motivating us to inspect and optimize our processes over and over again. By removing even the smallest sources of error, we not only reduce quality-related costs, but above all ensure sustainable and long-term safety and stability.
With our quality policy, we ensure the growth of our company by serving markets, in which we are already represented, with sensible and innovative products, services, and solutions. We also want to push into new areas that build on our technologies and competencies and take the interests of our customers into account.
