Next Generation – C.F. Maier Group with a new management

The family-owned company C.F. Maier looks back on a long tradition: Founded in 1964, its roots go back to 1925 – during this almost 100-year history, three generations of the Maier family of entrepreneurs have been active in the company. With the appointment of Maximilian Maier as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of July 1, 2023, the fourth generation is now taking over responsibility for managing the group of companies with eight companies in six countries and around 1,000 employees.

Gruppenbild der Geschäftsführung

Before Maximilian Maier joined the family business as a member of the management board in 2016, he gained four years of experience in a management consultancy after studying industrial engineering. Initially responsible for the area of lean management, he dealt with overarching issues of production as Managing Director of C.F. Maier Holding from 2018. From July 1, 2023, he will be fully dedicated to implementing the corporate strategy, leading the management and achieving the company's goals. He will be assisted in his new role by Cornelius Frey as Managing Director Production (COO) and Dr. Sebastian Jäger as Managing Director Technology (CTO).

Cornelius Frey has also worked for the group of companies for many years. In 2010, he joined the corporate projects team as a project manager, which he took over shortly thereafter. From 2012, he was responsible for the fortunes of the C.F. Maier synthetic resin plant as plant manager, and has had overall responsibility as managing director since 2021. In his role as COO, he is now responsible for the entire operational business of the production plants in the group of companies.

Dr. Sebastian Jäger succeeded Cornelius Frey as plant manager of the C.F. Maier Kunstharzwerk in 2021, was appointed head of technology in mid-2022 at C.F. Maier Europlast in mid-2022, and at the end of 2022 will succeed Gerhard Lettl as the Group's Chief Technical Officer (CTO), who until then was responsible for this area in addition to sales.

As the Group's top sales authority, Gerhard Lettl will continue to be available as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) with his enormous experience. Erich Sauter remains responsible for all service processes and financial management in the function of Commercial Director (CFO) and thus holds a no less important position within the C.F. Maier group of companies.

The Board of Directors of the group of companies with its Chairman Markus Maier, father of Maximilian Maier, with its four members, who bring very different expertise, is an important advisor and the responsible steering and control authority.

With the fourth generation, the company history of C.F. Maier is continued. The handover of the company management is not a bang for the buck: well-considered, carefully prepared and orderly – this is also a tradition at C.F. Maier.
